Increasing Competence at H&M - Broadening the Spectrum
New Partner
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Tobias Eisenmann, specialist lawyer in construction law and the law relating to architects, to our law firm as a new partner.
Tobias Eisenmann will be responsible for the section specializing in private construction and architect law, real estate and property law at our Stuttgart office with effect from 01 April 2017.
Property law requires specialist know-how in diverse areas of the law, from contract drafting to all the issues concerning real estate, corporate, finance and public procurement law. Based on our know-how in transactions, we have already established property law expertise over a period of several years. We now wish to expand on this in a strategic manner. So as to further improve our holistic advice in complex areas of the law, we have reorganized the structure and staffing of the area of expertise in property law through the engagement of Dr. Eisenmann.
Tobias Eisenmann was admitted to the bar in 1997. Before moving to Haver & Mailänder he was a partner in a Stuttgart law firm specializing in property and construction law. He advises both national and international market leaders in the property and construction industry, small and medium-sized construction companies, property and real estate developers, architects, engineers and project managers. He is a member and chairman of supervisory and administrative boards of several property companies and holds honorary positions concerned with construction law.
New Counsel
We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Bettina Backes, specialist lawyer in information technology law (IT law), to our law firm as Counsel.
Bettina Backes joined our law firm on 01 March 2017; since then she has strengthened our “Intellectual Property Law” section established by Dr. Werner Kessler and expanded together with Dr. Stephan Baur in our Stuttgart office. In a highly technological industrial society, corporate success is dependent in no small part on also resolving complex issues relating to contractual and data protection law and on developing sophisticated IP strategies. We keep pace with the expectations of our clients – whether they be hidden champions or start-ups – and are pleased that an experienced colleague such as Bettina Backes has now joined our IP/IT team.
Mrs. Backes has been admitted to the bar since 1994. Before moving to Haver & Mailänder she was a partner for over 12 years inter alia in an international commercial law firm in Stuttgart where she was responsible for IT/IP. In her legal work Mrs. Backes has concentrated on advising and representing clients on intellectual property (IP), media law, data protection and IT law. In addition she advises and accompanies non-profit organizations, especially foundations, during establishment and reorganization and throughout the course of their operative business. Alongside her voluntary work for diverse cultural and educational institutions, she is a deputy judge at the constitutional court of the state of Baden-Württemberg and on the board of the media authority of the state of Baden-Württemberg (Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg (LFK)). She has co-authored a specialist publication on sponsoring law and regularly acts as lecturer at specialist meetings.
