“The role of a lawyer is not always to enforce a single ‘correct’ view. Success for the client often lies in balancing conflicting economic and political interests.”
Ulrich Schnelle advises companies on German and European competition law and investment control, particularly in competition proceedings, damages claims and merger control, as well as in the areas of state aid law and foreign subsidies regulation. He also assists clients with company law, M&A transactions and distribution law – from strategic structuring to representation before regulatory authorities and in national and international courts.
His many years of experience and international perspective enable him to devise solutions that are legally sound and economically sensible, even in complex cross-border cases. MORE
Ulrich Schnelle studied law in Passau, Geneva, Freiburg and at the University of Illinois. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Freiburg and is an honorary professor at the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences. He also serves as chairman and member of various supervisory boards.
He advises in German, English and French and speaks Russian.
About me.
"Cultural diversity shapes my perspective. Several years spent in Switzerland, the USA and Brussels have broadened my horizons significantly. Languages, new perspectives and international contexts are an integral part of my everyday life.
This openness and the ability to look beyond the immediate task also shape my work as a lawyer – combined with legal precision, cultural sensitivity and a commitment to presenting complex issues clearly and in a solution-oriented manner."
