Haver & Mailänder Advises on Sale of Trelock-Group


Haver & Mailänder has advised the shareholder of Trelock group, Münster, a leading brand for bicycle locks and lights in Germany, on the sale of Trelock group to Allegion plc. Allegion plc is a leading global security products and solutions provider. The corresponding contracts were signed in May 2016; after having been approved by the competition authorities, the transaction has now been completed successfully.

Allegion is a global pioneer in safety and security and is focusing on security around the door and adjacent areas. Allegion is a $2 billion company, with products sold in almost 130 countries. Trelock is headquartered in Münster, Germany, producing and developing branded bicycle locks, lights and electronic control units. With roots dating back to 1854, Trelock is a leader in the German bicycle market with a strong footprint throughout Europe as well as a presence in Asia.

The M&A team of Haver & Mailänder regularly advises transactions in the mid-size business, recently e.g. BWK-Medien GmbH on the sale of shares in Dr. Haas GmbH and P3 group on the acquisition of shares in the common joint-venture from Voith group.

Panel Discussion Public Procurement Modernization: „It will take some time to get accustomed to it“


On April 18, 2016 the reform package on public procurement law entered into force in Germany. Finalizing years of the legislative process, three 2014 EU Directives on public procurement have been implemented in German law. This gave reason enough for an evaluation by two experts, Dr. Andrea Rosenauer, head of the antitrust and public procurement department, Ministry of Finance and Economics, Baden-Württemberg, and Rechtsanwalt Dr. Alexander Hübner, who met at the editorial office of Staatsanzeiger für Baden-Württemberg.

Haver & Mailänder Offers Perspectives for Young Lawyers


Stuttgart, 18 December 2015. The law firm Haver & Mailänder has appointed the associates Dr. Fabian Mayer and Dr. Roland Kläger as partners per 01 January 2016, whereby the law firm now has 20 partners.

"With Fabian Mayer and Roland Kläger we have appointed two colleagues as partners, who have done excellent work for the firm and our clients for many years. As partners, they will further strengthen our very important areas corporate/succession and arbitration", declare the managing partners of the law firm Dr. Peter Mailänder and Dr. Ulrich Schnelle.

Dr. Fabian Mayer has been working for the firm since 2009 in the areas of corporate law and mergers & acquisitions. A further focus of his work are questions of corporate succession and real estate. Further, he is city council of Stuttgart and member of various supervisory bodies.

Dr. Roland Kläger has been practicing in the the arbitration department since 2012. Hi is specialized in conducting national and international arbitratin proceedings, where he acts as counsel and as arbitrator. He further advises and represents particularly internationally active companies and banks in disputes before state courts. He is further regional coordinator of DIS40 Stuttgart and member of other arbitration associations.

Dr. Alexander Hübner reappointed member of the EU Commission stakeholder expert group on public procurement


On 13 July 2015, the Director-General of DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the Commission reappointed Dr. Alexander Hübner as member of the Commission stakeholder expert group on public procurement for a three year mandate. The appointment results from the Commission Decision of 3 September 2011 setting up a Commission stakeholder expert group on public procurement and a call for applications published by DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs in April, 2015 (OJEU C 112/18). Dr. Hübner has been member, in his personal capacity of the group consisting of 20 individuals since 2012. The task of the group is to provide the Commission with high-quality legal, economic, technical and/or practical insight and expertise to help it shape the EU’s public procurement policy.
